ISDi explores the business opportunities of the Metaverse

ISDI explores some points regarding the Metaverse in organizations, how should it be there? How to sell on it? Will it work for collaboration? To build customer loyalty?

ISDI Mexico presented the report “Professionals Facing the Construction of a Future in the Metaverse “, in order to understand how much professionals and companies understand about the metaverse and its applications to business, since Meta estimated that 5% of the The region’s GDP will be impacted by this trend.

In what is considered the first formal study on reality proposed by the Metaverse , it is estimated that, by 2025, 40% of the world’s population will be interacting in the metaverse in its different facets, through Virtual Reality and Virtual Reality glasses. Augmented or from other metaverses like Roblox, for example.

Alejandro Platas, director of open programs at ISDI Mexico, pointed out that seven out of 10 people have heard of the Metaverse but know little about the concept.

He also warned that 5 out of 10 people find that the metaverse will happen in their organizations, but do not understand in what area.

Regarding the technologies associated with the metaverse, the respondents consider virtual reality and augmented reality (24%); Artificial Intelligence (17%); cryptocurrencies and blockchain (14%); Internet of things (14%); 3D reconstruction (11%). 73% consider that all of the above will intervene.

People (22%) talk about the Metaverse but see it as very distant, mainly the population between 30 and 40 years old; 39% have not touched on the subject but see it as possible in the future. Only 18% have not touched the subject because they do not see it within their reach.

What applications are more viable?

33% of those surveyed who consider that the Metaverse will help their productivity and improve the customer experience, believe that it will be applied to the interaction between collaborators in hybrid work (58%); 33% consider that there will be improvements in productivity. 20% consider that it will be used for the constant evaluation of the performance and behavior of teams.

Although, 40% of the companies affirm that the Metaverse is not an issue that has been addressed in their organizations; another 22% if they have discussed the issue and are taking action, such as budget allocation. 41% allocate less than 5% of the budget; 43% allocate from 5 to 10% and only 16% allocate from 11 to 20% of their budgets.

ISDI proposes to increase the budget to train people and explore the tools to use the Metaverse , because by 2026, each person will spend at least one hour a day interacting in the Metaverse .

The opportunities are varied, but to take them you must know the trend. 26% are looking for more information, 22% want to find applications for their company; 28% want to prepare their internal people to focus on the metaverse and another 18% are looking for companies to help them put it into practice.

“Anticipate and plan the future of your company; be an early adopter, education is key, it fosters a safe environment to experiment with technologies and concepts that this trend provides”.
